What does a description explain, and what does it assume?
Element · Relation · Boundary
Object, statement and evidence are distinct units. The metamodel helps separate them. A definition fixes usage; an empirical claim asserts something about the world. Moving from what is to what ought requires a normative premise.
Effect · Time · Feedback
Recursive viewing combines relational description with scale changes. System thinking similarly separates system/environment, cybernetics examines feedback and process thinking examines change. Similarity proves neither ADL priority nor refutation. A possible contribution is consistent, usable representation of these questions across applications.
definition ≠ empirical claim ≠ proof ≠ practical utilityThe symbols distinguish statement types, not a new formal logic.
Limits of the claim
A metalanguage becomes empty if every observation fits without fixed criteria. Criticism must be able to target a definition, assumption or inference.
Test
Select a central claim and classify it. A critic must be able to give a counterexample without terms merely shifting afterwards.
